Shivaji was once offered as a war booty an extremely beautiful young lady, by an uninformed Maratha captain. He always showed respect, defended and protected places of worship of all denominations and religions.
He offered protection to houses of worship, non-combatants, women and children. Shivaji is noted for his strong religious and warrior code of ethics and exemplary character displayed during his long military career.
